"What you see everyday "
On this certain task we were supposed to draw something we see everyday creatively and discover our potential in art. I was finding something artistic and creative to draw and look around myself. The things i saw are people walking around on the streets wearing fake masks covering their inner self.
Once i got home i got this inspiration of drawing a half skull half human portrait to show that us humans we have two sides of ourself, one is how we portray ourself to the public and the other one is our inner self which we hide it away and keep it deep inside ourselves.
Funktional Machines
Our second task is on functional machines, we are supposed to use old recyclable items and make it into a functional machine creatively.
I took apart a water boiler and decided to make it into a debris collector. The photo shown on the right side is when i took apart the old water boiler and was thinking of ideas on how to make it into something interesting.
In the end i decided to make a space debris collector called the "Supreme Collector."
In the first picture shown on the left side is my model of the space debris collector. The functions of the space debris collector is that it can collect debris in space and make space clear from random rubbish floating around. This will avoid the clash of debris with satellites and space shuttles, in the near future space debris must be cleared for humans to travel from earth to other planets.
The second picture is the completed version of the "Supreme Collector." It will work with NASA for space information and to ensure the safety of travelling in space.
Research Cocoon
The final task is on a research cocoon that we had to design for our client which is the researcher at Botanic Garden, Shah Alam. We have to study our clients on his hobby and daily activities for him to conduct his cocoon in the most efficient way.
My researcher is called Professor Schwarzenegger and he's doing research on house sparrows, one of them is called the Pelican Sparrow which is also called the "Mah Jong bird". He's doing research on why are the number of house sparrows are dropping, is it due to the weather environment, air pollution or poor quality food. His hobbies are fitness, researching and also bird watching.
Site Analysis
The most suitable place for the cocoon to be built is at the Animal Park which is next to the lake, the other thing is that the cocoon will be built on the tree. This will allow the researcher to conduct his bird watching activities and observe the birds.
There is also a bird park near the area which the researcher can go down and check the bird park for more research information that he needs to collect.
Model Making
The model is made inspired by the bird features such as the wings, beaks, legs. The pillars on the first floor supporting the base is the bird legs, triangle shaped like represents the wings and the second floor glass structure is the beaks.
The cocoon consists of a bedroom, bathroom, laboratory, gym and bird watching. This model is specifically made for the researcher as you can see the second floor glass like structure is for him observe the birds while working out, after that he will do his research on the same floor so that it's convenient for him to conduct his researches.
Presentation Boards
The first presentation board is where my cocoon is going to be built and also a short description of the cocoon. I named the cocoon "Trinest." Tri means three triangles and nest represents the home of a bird. It also shows the floor plan of the cocoon on the first board.
The second board is the Elevation and section of the cocoon shown in the board. and the pointy design sticking out represents tree branches.
The third board is perspective. One-point perspective of the bedroom is drawn below and two-point perspective of the laboratory is drawn above.
The last board is the oblique drawn of the model, it shows the entire picture of the model without having to take it apart. They can have a clear view of the cocoon shown in the oblique drawing.
